The upgrades are part of a wider investment by TRG in their properties, and include a community centre and a number of sheltered housing schemes.

Ashley & McDonough Wins 4-Year Contract with Salix Homes

Ashley & McDonough are extremely proud to have won a new contract with Salix Homes!

Salix Homes is a renowned social housing provider with a string of accolades to their name. Their story began in 2007 when they emerged as an arm’s length management organisation (ALMO), working in collaboration with Salford City Council.

In 2014, a significant milestone was reached as their tenants voted for them to assume ownership of their homes from the council. By March 2015, they transitioned into an independent Registered Provider (RP), dedicated to providing homes, services, and support to help communities live, grow and thrive.

Today, Salix Homes own and manage 8,500 homes across Salford, including 17 high-rise tower blocks, a range of medium and low-rise apartment blocks, traditional terraced streets, large housing estates and sheltered accommodation complexes.

Salix Homes is dedicated to enhancing home standards to foster communities, making them an ideal partner for us. At Ashley & McDonough, we are passionate about making a positive impact through attentive and high-quality services. After a competitive tender process, Ashley & McDonough were awarded a 4-year contract to provide the Service, Repair and Maintenance for Door Entry Access, CCTV, Communal TV, Pedestrian and Vehicle Gates.

Ashley & McDonough Wins Central Heating Scheme Installation Programme with The Guinness Partnership

Ashley & McDonough continues to experience rapid expansion, with a successful 2024 already underway. One of our most recent successes was the securement of a large communal heating scheme installation programme with the social landlord, The Guinness Partnership.

Founded in 1890 with a mission to provide great homes and services, The Guinness Partnership takes pride in being one of Britain’s largest affordable housing and care providers. They manage and own over 65,000 homes in the UK and provide care services to around 135,000 customers.

By winning this programme with the Guinness Partnership, Ashley & McDonough will install a central network that supplies heating and hot water to single building blocks that contain multiple homes and occupants within. By utilising one central boiler instead of individual boilers for each home, community heating will result in an efficient and cost-effective option for both landlords and their residents.

The Guinness Partnership is constantly making strides towards fulfilling its purpose. After a recent re-accreditation, it became the first housing association in the United Kingdom to be awarded an enhanced accreditation status for its fantastic response to domestic abuse cases by the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance. First accredited in 2020 for their approach to raising awareness about domestic abuse, this re-accreditation offers another fantastic achievement for the Partnership and further re-aligns their values.

4×4 Winter Fleet Ensure 24/7 Response

Ashley & Mcdonough Compliance Services Engineer Team took delivery of their 4×4 Winter Fleet today.

Darren Cunningham, CEO said “it is critical to ensure the continuation of a responsive and high quality service for our customers, despite the inevitable pressures during the Winter Period. 4×4 vehicles will guarantee that we can respond 24/7, at a time when our customers, and our residents need us most”.

The 4×4 Fleet is part of a comprehensive Winter Plan which includes, all operational vehicles have winter tyres, should we need to get to remote, snowbound locations, increased van stock, emergency boilers on hold, daily weather reviews, engineers working shifts to provide extended days and late appointments and additional Helpdesk sta.

Ashley & McDonough today announces the introduction of its new Gas Installs Team

Ashley & McDonough today announces the introduction of its new Gas Installs Team and fleet of gas installation vans, servicing the North West of England.

The Team, headed up by Colin Butterworth, Gas Installs Manager, will allow the firm to carry out boiler installs for its social housing, public sector and private customers. Colin has been in the Gas Industry for almost 20 years, commencing his career at the Council as a Gas Apprentice. Colin has worked his way through the ranks, and is now our Install Manager, focused on completing installs to the highest standards, carrying out health and safety inspections, work in progress inspections, and post inspections to ensure all customers are safe and compliant.

This new Team forms part of an exciting time of growth for Ashley & McDonough Compliance Services, which has just seen the refurbishment of its head office in Prescot, Liverpool, the expansion of its Electrical Engineering Team, the announcement of the new Fire Protection and Security Team and a real growth in sales. The new Gas Install Team demonstrates our ongoing commitment to delivering the very best standard of service to our customers.
